Wise County Farmhouse

What began as an escape plan from Dallas at the height of Covid, the Wise County Farmhouse became a study in pole-barn construction and programmatic efficiency. The farmhouse is an elongated gable structure with three primary programs: a greenhouse, a garage, and a residence. Additionally, a small lap pool was introduced to “swim into the meadow.” The project employs various water-capture and filtration devices to function as independently as possible from local utilities (think eco-libertarian). Unfortunately, like many other great ideas of 2020, this project fell short of becoming a reality. We were lucky to work with such a kind and intellectually adventurous client team.
